Impact
Our Achievements So Far
Since its establishment in 2024, the Benzie County Land Conservancy (BCLC) has made significant strides in protecting the ecological and scenic integrity of Benzie County. A major achievement in our inaugural year was playing an instrumental role in fighting the proposed Camp Nearby development in Crystal Lake Township. This project threatened to destroy specimen trees, permanently disrupt critical natural habitats, and introduce environmental concerns tied to the installation and maintenance of a commercial septic system. With continued community support, BCLC remains committed to opposing poorly conceived developments that endanger the natural beauty and ecological health of Benzie County.
